This Winter school would be most suitable for:

  • international students of any major and year of study who are curious about the Russian language and would like to obtain the basic skills;
  • SPbPU international students of English-taught programs who would like to feel more comfortable and independent in the Russian-speaking environment and make new friends;
  • international individuals with any academic background, interested in intercultural immersion experience, expanding their skill set and obtaining an additional University Certificate.

Duration: 2 weeks*

ECTS credits (total): 4.0*

*The students who are interested in achieving better progress in Russian language or receiving more credits can combine this program with other modules in Russian Studies.

Participation fee: 30 000 RUB**

Participation fee includes tuition fee, study materials and cultural program.

Upon successful completion of the course students will receive hard copies of certificates with ECTS credits.

  • for the citizens of China: December 9, 2024;

  • Course description

    Survival Russian Language 3 ECTS

    The students will be divided into groups upon the results of the Placement Test.

    You will obtain or improve the key communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Those who study the language from scratch will learn the basics of grammar and conversational Russian, the useful phrases and constructions for different situations, and will be able to participate in the elementary dialogues with the native speakers. Those who have studied the Russian language before will improve their skills and feel more confident about using it in real life communication.

    Contemporary Russia 1 ECTS

    The course describes and explains the major elements of contemporary Russian life to facilitate your understanding of the modern Russian society and our mentality. The course is conducted in English language.

  • Entrance requirements
    • - Good command of English language
    • - Knowledge of the Russian language is NOT obligatory: the students with any level are welcome for participation

Professors and lecturers:

SPbPU professors and associate professors, experts in the field of Russian Studies and teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Our teachers are highly qualified, many of them are published authors.

Study process:

You will study online in small groups, in live real-time lessons.

You will interact with your teacher and international classmates, work on the group and individual tasks online, improve your skills during the speaking clubs and get involved in the online social activities to make new friends from around the globe.

    Upon successful completion of the Winter school, our students will receive official SPbPU Certificates in English and Russian language mentioning:
