• Who can participate?

  This Summer school will be most suitable for:

  • ➢ international students of any major and year of study, interested in learning Russian from scratch or improving their level with maximal efficiency

Program format: online

Duration: 2 weeks*

ECTS credits (total): 5.0*

*The students who are interested in achieving better progress in Russian language or receiving more credits can combine this program with any other module in Russian Studies.

• Course description

  Russian Language: 3 ECTS

  Levels available: A0-C1. The program is open for the students of all levels, including absolute beginners.

  The students will be divided into groups upon the results of the Placement Test.

  The classes are conducted by experts in the field of Russian as a foreign language.

  You will obtain or considerably improve the key communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing; feel more confident about using the Russian language in a variety of contexts, break the communication barrier and start understanding the native speakers better.

  Russian Culture: 1 ECTS

  The course provides an overview of the cultural traditions together with the realities of the contemporary Russia to facilitate your understanding of the modern Russian society and our mentality. The course is conducted in English language.

Professors and lecturers:

SPbPU professors and associate professors, experts in the field of Russian Studies and teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Our teachers are highly qualified, many of them are published authors.

Study process:

You will study online in small groups, in live real-time lessons.

You will interact with your teacher and international classmates, work on the group and individual tasks online, improve your skills during the speaking clubs and get involved in the online social activities to make new friends from around the globe.

• Entrance requirements
  • - Good command of English language
  • - Knowledge of the Russian language is NOT obligatory: the students with any level are welcome for participation

Participation fee: 40 000 RUB

Participation fee includes: tuition fee, study materials and socio-cultural program.

Upon successful completion of the course students will receive hard copies of certificates with ECTS credits (mailed by post in case of the online format of the Summer School).

• Certificates:

  Upon successful completion of the summer school, our students will receive official SPbPU Certificates in English and Russian language mentioning:

  • - courses taken;
  • - academic hours per course;
  • - ECTS credits per course;
  • - grades received.

• Cultural program

  We offer our students excursions to the most famous palaces, monuments, museums of St. Petersburg, as well as other cultural activities.

Deadline for registration:

• for the citizens of China: June 24, 2024;
• for the citizens of countries with visa-free regime: July 1, 2024;
• for the citizens of other countries: May 20, 2024.
