If you teach English to speakers of other languages and want to develop your personal and professional skills, improve your communication abilities and become an expert in your field, this program is your next step. The program takes focus on the basic theoretical and practice aspects of language learning, which will help you to develop your professional English teaching skills. You’ll explore the latest theories in topics such as second language acquisition and social discourse and examine different methods of teaching English. You’ll be supported throughout by our research-active and industry-experienced academics. Our students have a unique opportunity to develop the skills needed to teach English around the world, to speakers of other languages during the school lectures, case studies and workshops.
Online lectures will be delivered synchronized as live talk with professors and groupmates. Records of classes will be available on SPbPU platform for 1 month after the course end.
Participation fee includes tuition fee, study materials.
Upon successful completion of the course students will receive hard copies of certificates with ECTS credits (mailed by post in case of the online format of the Summer School).
The main objective of this course is to investigate the spread of English as an international language. The course addresses the challenges of teaching English as an international language in a super-diverse world as ELT professionals should develop tolerance towards language being in a constant state of flux.
