Option 2 – tailor-made. We may also arrange a tailor-made on-campus program for a group of minimum 10 students holding nationality of the countries Russia resumed international air and railway service with. The countries listed here.

  • Brief description

    If you teach English to speakers of other languages and want to develop your personal and professional skills, improve your communication abilities and become an expert in your field, this program is your next step. The program takes focus on the basic theoretical and practice aspects of language learning, which will help you to develop your professional English teaching skills. You’ll explore the latest theories in topics such as second language acquisition and social discourse and examine different methods of teaching English. You’ll be supported throughout by our research-active and industry-experienced academics. Our students have a unique opportunity to develop the skills needed to teach English around the world, to speakers of other languages during the school lectures, case studies and workshops.

Duration: 2 weeks

ECTS credits: 4.0

Participation fee: 270 Euro

Upon successful completion of the course students will receive hard copies of certificates with ECTS credits (mailed by post in case of the online format of the Summer School).

    • • Online broadcasting of excursion to the Hermitage museum;

    *All of the listed above activities are planned to take place but in case any of those will have to be cancelled, an alternative event will be offered to participants.

  • Entrance requirements
    • • Good command of English. All classes and extracurricular activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of the Russian language is not required.
  • Course description

    The main objective of this course is to investigate the spread of English as an international language. The course addresses the challenges of teaching English as an international language in a super-diverse world as ELT professionals should develop tolerance towards language being in a constant state of flux.

    Module 2. Intercultural communication and multilingualism

    Module 3. TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

    • • Approaches to Teaching;
    • • Lesson Planning and Classroom Management;
    • • Presentation Techniques and Practice Activities;
    • • Teaching Grammar and Vocabulary;
    • • Teaching Productive and Receptive Skills.

    Module 4. Digital didactics in English teaching

    Module 5. World Englishes: Implications for language teaching
